This Weekend: Loudoun Ballet Company Presents Deep in the Forest

Deep in the Forest, an original story ballet created by Artistic Director Maureen Miller, premiered in the spring of 2005 with rave reviews. Deep in the Forest tells the story of a fairy princess, her unicorn, a pesky dragon, and a host of woodland characters that are bound to charm audiences of all ages with its happy ending and moral lesson.The inspiration for Deep in the Forest came from Miller's fairy collection, which numbers about 100 pieces. And not surprisingly, many of those fairies were gifts from ballet students over the years.Join LBC and its talented dancers this weekend only Potomac Falls High School. Showtimes are Saturday, October 9, at 1 PM and 4PM. And Sunday, October 10, at 4PM. Tickets will be sold at the door and are general admission. Prices are $15.00 for Adults, and $10.00 for Children (12 & under) & Seniors (60 & above).

Cindy Vance serving beef stew at Ashburn Farmers' Market Saturday

Ashburn, VA - Personal Chef Cindy Vance will be cooking beef stew and providing samplings to visitors at the Ashburn Farmer's Market at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 9. The ingredients all come from Loudoun County Farms, including the beef, and are on sale at the Farmers' Market from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturdays at the Ashburn Crossroads Restaurant Park, 44036 Pipeline Plaza.

 A personal chef and owner of Cindy's Fit Food, Cindy is on a mission to bring families back to the dinner table. She is working with the Loudoun Valley Growers to demonstrate how to prepare and serve the fresh produce offered by local famers. She launched her personal chef business in January, after managing a local landscaping business for 17 years. She is studying for her chef certificate with the Culinary Business Academy.

MastiFest 2010

On Saturday October 16, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. the annual Dandiya and Bollywood Dance extravaganza, MastiFest2010, is taking place in Ashburn, VA. The event will be held at Stone Bridge High School located at 43100 Hay Road.

Curry’s Auto Donates $15K to Dulles South Youth Sports at Freedom H.S.

South Riding, VA -- Curry’s Auto Service is donating $15,000 to Dulles South Youth Sports (DSYS) Football  Friday, October 8, at 7 pm, at Freedom High School, 25450 Riding Center Drive, South Riding.

Chris Coulter, Curry's Vice President, and Aundria McCarthy, Curry's marketing manager, will present the check to  Gus DiPierro, Commissioner for DSYS. The check is seed money for the “Curry’s Field and Scholarship Fund,” which will provide athletic scholarships to DSYS players and funding for a future field facility.
