Loudoun County's First Big Wheels Deliver Meals Event

From Claire Smith of Loudoun County:

On November 17 and 18 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Senator Mark Herring, public officials, business owners and other community leaders will participate in Loudoun’s First “Big Wheels Deliver Meals” Event.

More specifically, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott York, Town of Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd, Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue Robert Wertz and other government, civic, business and community leaders are delivering meals to elderly homebound residents of Loudoun.

Participants will meet at distribution centers in Leesburg and Sterling and then drive their own vehicles while accompanying volunteers on visits to homes, apartments and retirement facilities in Ashburn, Leesburg, Purcellville and Sterling.

Big Wheels events are held nationwide and provide an opportunity for public officials, business owners, and other community leaders to meet and hear from their neighbors who are unable to shop or prepare nutritious meals for themselves due to a disability, illness or fragility. Last year, the Loudoun home delivered meals Program served nearly 48,000 meals to 325 homebound adults with the support of 175 volunteers.
