This was sent to us by Michael Gillette:

5-year-old Taylor Love from Ashburn, VA is battling neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer with no cure. 13-year-old musician Abby Miller from Sterling, VA is her friend and has been helping raise money for Taylor since the girls met a few years ago. Abby typically performs on the streets of DC or in front of shopping malls to raise money. On average, she raises a couple hundred dollars each time she goes out.

Abby and Taylor recently set their sights on a bigger prize when they teamed up to help generate votes for the Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer charity in the Pepsi Refresh contest. The New York-based charity was in 4th place but needed to move into 1st or 2nd place to win one of the $250,000 grants. (All of these funds would go toward neuroblastoma research which would directly benefit Taylor.)

Abby and Taylor appeared together in a very powerful video that Abby posted on her YouTube channel this Monday. Hundreds of Abby’s fans began voting in mass and within 72 hours the charity had moved from 4th place to 2nd place – a huge jump in such a short period of time. So far the video has been viewed over 7,000 times on YouTube and the number is growing.

The contest ends September 30 and Abby and Taylor will be filming another video this Sunday morning in Loudoun County to generate more votes. (Tentatively set for Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Brambleton Town Center.)
