This food revolution comes as a result of the vending machine make-over by a San Diego-based company that has franchises stretching from one end of the country to the other.

"People have had enough of all the unhealthy food options. They really want something more nutritious, today,” explains Jolly Backer, the chief executive officer of Fresh Healthy Vending (www.freshvending.com). “Until now, getting something healthier might not have included convenience, which is something else that people want. So we have paired the two in a perfect combination.”

Your company’s name is Kadoo. How did you come up with it? Is there a meaning or a story behind it?

 We actually acquired Kadoo with its name in place. But, we really loved the name. And, apparently, it means “community” in Chinese, which we really like.

On Sat., Apr. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Old Town Manassas will host the Fourth Annual Spring Cleaning Day at the Harris Pavilion at 9201 Center Street in Manassas, Va., where attendees can recycle their gently used household items or clothes and donate them to local non-profits, visit recycling and conservation exhibits, and kids can make earth-friendly art projects. The Manassas Art Guild will also be featuring a spring Earth exhibit, where artists showcase their artwork reflecting themes of recycling, natural materials and the environment.

Leesburg Youth Job Fair Scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2011 at ProJet Aviation

From the Town of Leesburg – Leesburg District Supervisor Kelly Burk will host the 2nd annual Leesburg Youth Job Fair on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from noon to 3 pm at ProJet Aviation at Leesburg Executive Airport on Sycolin Road.

Last year’s job fair, held at the former Pohanka Chrysler-Dodge Dealership on Catoctin Circle, was a resounding success with over 600 youth and 40 businesses in attendance.  John Zeismer, of Polo/Ralph Lauren, hired 12 employees for his store, while Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hired a number of students for their Student Ambassador Program at Dulles Airport.  Susan Berez, manager of Jockey at the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets said “It was worth it.  I would do it every year.”
