Thankful for Scouting for Food

Nothing says Thanksgiving across the country like the "Scouting for Food" tradition. This month in Ashburn, Hillside's Pack 1483 spread out among the Broadlands, scouring streets, knocking on doors, and hauling bags and bags of food.

Boys and dads (and some moms!) spread out throughout the neighborhoods.  Broadlands residents gave generously, setting a record over last year's effort and among surrounding troops.

In this area of plenty, we often forget that there are needy families in our county and our region. That's why teaching our boys the importance of community service and their responsibility to their neighbors is one of the most important lessons we can give them...at Thanksgiving and throughout the year.
