LCSO Investigates Death of Sterling Man Incarcerated at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center

Loudoun County, VA – A Sterling, Virginia man passed away on February 3, 2012 after suffering an unknown medical emergency while he was incarcerated at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.   
 
Around 6:30 AM correctional deputies observed the Sterling man in his holding cell experiencing symptoms from an unknown medical condition. On-site medical staff were summoned to the cell and he was taken to the Cornwall Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he lost his life. 
  
The Sterling man, identified as Scott A. Landrum, 45, was taken into custody on February 2nd after he violated a protective order filed against him the previous day. He was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center around 1:34 PM.  
  
The cause and manner of his death is under investigation by the Office of the Virginia Medical Examiner and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
