Suspect Arrested in 2007 Gang-Related Assault in Ashburn

From Loudoun Sheriff:

Loudoun County, VA – A suspect in a 2007 assault in Ashburn, Virginia was located and taken into custody at a home in Western Loudoun County on February 1, 2012.

Victor M. Hernandez-Suaza, 23, of Colombia, was arrested at a home in the 30 block of Sydnor Street in Hamilton, VA. Hernandez-Suaza was charged with two counts of assault by mob and two counts of participating in a criminal act to benefit a gang. The charges stem from a September 21, 2007 gang assault at the Ashburn Meadows apartment complex in the 21000 block of Lowry Park Terrace. During the incident several suspects were involved in an assault where a firearm was discharged through the front door of an apartment.

The investigation led to the identification of eleven suspects, including Hernandez-Suaza, all of whom have now been arrested.  Warrants for the arrest of Hernandez-Suaza were obtained in October 2007, but attempts to locate him were unsuccessful and it was believed he had fled the area. The agency recently received information of his possible whereabouts, ultimately leading to his arrest last week.

Hernandez-Suaza remains held at the Loudoun County Detention Center without bond. He is also held on a federal detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
