Barricade Situation on Plum Tree Court in Sterling Ends Peacefully

Loudoun County, VA:  A barricade situation on Plum Tree Court ended peacefully after an adult threatened to harm himself.   
  
Around 12:30 p.m. on August 22, 2011 the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office learned that an adult male had barricaded himself in a room inside of a residence in the 100 block of Plum Tree Court in Sterling, VA and made statements he was going to harm himself. On scene, the agency learned that there was a family member inside the home and there were weapons present.    
  
Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Hostage Negotiations Unit responded to the scene. A Reverse 911 was also issued to homes in the immediate area advising residents to stay in their homes during the barricade situation.

Loudoun County, VA: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is again reminding residents to never leave their cars unlocked while unattended after a series of larcenies from vehicles and tampering of vehicles in the Ashburn area. 

During the overnight hours of Friday, August 5, 2011 seventeen vehicles were entered and rummaged through in the areas of Gatwick Square, Clearnight Terrace, Ribboncrest Terrace, and Wintergrove Drive. Items removed included money, sunglasses, as well as two MP3 players.
