Loudoun County Submits Redistricting Plan to Justice Department

Loudoun County has submitted its redistricting plan to the U.S. Department of Justice. The plan establishes district boundaries, voting precincts and polling places for eight election districts: Algonkian, Ashburn, Blue Ridge, Broad Run, Catoctin, Dulles, Leesburg, and Sterling.

A complete copy of the submission that was submitted to the Department of Justice on May 2, 2011, is available online at www.loudoun.gov/redistricting and at the Office of the County Attorney, located on the 5th floor of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg.

The county expects to receive preliminary federal clearance of the redistricting plan within the next 60 days. Once the pre-clearance is issued by the Justice Department, the county will distribute new voter registration cards.
