Ashburn Woman Struck by Vehicle on Route 7; Victim Has Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

From Loudoun Sheriff:

A 20-year-old Ashburn, VA woman is expected to fully recover after she was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening after she attempted to cross Route 7 near Campus Drive in Sterling, VA. 
 
Around 5 p.m., Kiera Small, was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Route 7 just west of the intersection of Campus Drive when she was struck by a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. Small attempted to cross the roadway against the green light for westbound traffic. She was taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. As of this evening her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  
  
The incident was investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit. No charges are pending at this time.

Leesburg Teams Sweep 9 & Under Division at Team X National Flag Football Tournament

From the Town of Leesburg – Coaches and players from the Leesburg Parks & Recreation Department’s flag football league participated in the Team X National Flag Football Tournament on May 8, 2011 in Quakertown, PA.    In the 9 & Under Division, the Leesburg teams swept the competition, taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the tournament.

The newly formed Virginia Xtreme competitive flag football club took four teams to the tournament.  Three teams (Virginia Xtreme A, B & C) participated in the 9 & Under Division and one team participated in the 11 & Under Division.

Report Says D.C. Is 5th Least Stressed 'State' In Country

D.C. is an incredibly busy city, a city that houses some of the most powerful, most intense jobs in the world.

And yet, one report is saying that District residents are some of the "least stressed" in the nation.

According the report released yesterday by Gallup, D.C. is the fifth "least stressed" state in the country, trailing only Hawaii, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
