Ashby Ponds Hosts Annual Blessing of the Animals

Ashby Ponds Hosts Annual Blessing of the Animals

The annual Blessing of the Animals at Ashby Ponds took place on Tuesday, October 4 at the retirement community.  The blessing was sponsored by Galilee United Methodist Church and given by Reverend Matt Sergent.

There are 600 residents at the community and about 80 cats and dogs who also call Ashby Ponds home.  Historically, the blessing of the animals has been held on October 4 in honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.
