TV Show Features County Administrator and Disability Services Board

The new edition of “Inside Loudoun County” features segments on the proposed Fiscal Year 2012 (FY 12) budget for the Loudoun County government and the county’s Disability Services Board.

The guest in the first segment of the show is Loudoun County Administrator Tim Hemstreet. He discusses some of the key challenges he faced in preparing the proposed FY 12 budget for the county government, including how to balance affordability and service delivery while the county continues to experience significant growth. Hemstreet said the guiding principles he used in preparing the proposed fiscal plan included maintaining the county’s commitment to a sound fiscal policy, providing essential public safety and human services, and preserving critical services needed by the county’s residents as the county continues to grow. More information about the county budget is online at www.loudoun.gov/budget.

The guests in the show’s second segment are Frank Lombardi, Chairman of the Loudoun County Disability Services Board (DSB), and Catherine Motivans, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the Loudoun County government. They discuss the purpose of the DSB, which includes providing input to the Board of Supervisors and county agencies on issues important to people with physical and sensory disabilities. They also discuss the DSB’s expansion of its advocacy, awareness and community outreach efforts to create more public awareness of the needs of people with disabilities. They encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about the DSB to go to the county website at www.loudoun.gov/dsb.

“Inside Loudoun County” is a 30-minute cable television program airing Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., and repeating at various times, on Comcast Government Channel 23, Verizon FiOS Channel 40, and Open Band Channel 40.
