Loudoun Business Owners: Are You Looking For Ways to Reach Your Audience?

Loudoun Business Owners: Are You Looking For Ways to Reach Your Audience?

If you own or manage a business in Loudoun County, you understand the challenges that are sometimes associated with reaching your audience.

Have you considered the benefits of charitable donations to schools that service the families you wish to reach?

For instance, Sycolin Creek Elementary School PTA is hosting a Talent Show next Friday. The SCES Emmys will showcase the talent of nearly 150 students! And parents---who will surely be in mass attendance for the event---will "shop" at the school's auction.

What does that mean for you?

It's the chance to give back to your community with an investment that's small in comparison to your business's exposure of hundreds of families.

LEAP Looks at Innovations in Education

LEAP Looks at Innovations in Education

From Loudoun County Public Schools:

The Loudoun Education Alliance of Parents (LEAP) will explore a variety of educational innovations at its Wednesday, January 12th, meeting.

Addressing the diverse needs of a growing population could well require developing new educational methods or building upon those already in place in our schools. For example, how can we augment the use of technology in schools and homes? Are there existing programs elsewhere that Loudoun could use to supplement its offerings? Are there new educational models on the horizon?

LEAP will "open the doors" at 7 p.m. to offer parents, administrators, and guests an opportunity for informal discussion. The formal meeting begins at 7:30pm.

Powder Puff Game to Raise Money for the Loudoun Breast Health Network

The following was sent to us by Stone Bridge High School:

Ashburn, Virginia, October 13, 2010 -- Stone Bridge High School is hosting our sixth annual DECA Powder Puff Game, a junior vs. senior girls flag football game.  This popular homecoming event is being held on October 18, 2010.  The stands will be flooded with pink and the majority of the student body will be present.  We are raising money for the Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN) by selling pink t-shirts, neon sunglasses, raffle tickets for an autographed football signed by the 2010 Washington Redskins and $3 tickets to the game.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will go to the LBHN.

This is the second year we have donated to Loudoun Breast Health Network, a non-profit, community based organization located in Loudoun County.  They support women diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Loudoun County.

In 2011, Loudoun County Public Schools Will Resume Before Labor Day

Yesterday, the Loudoun County School Board adopted a 2011-2012 calendar that provides for Loudoun County Public Schools to begin the week before Labor Day.

In September, Dr. Ed Hatrick, Superintendent for Loudoun County Public Schools, told School Board members that he intended to open schools before Labor Day for the 2011-2012 school year. And after seeking parent, student, and staff input, the School Board voted unanimously to adopt a new calendar. As a result, students will begin the new school year on August 28, 2011, and conclude the school year on June 8, 2012. They will have typical Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks.
