Village at Leesburg announced recently that Orvis, a national retailer of outdoor goods, has signed a lease for retail space within the 1.2 million square foot mixed-use project at Route 7 and Crosstrail Blvd.  Orvis will occupy 6,022 square feet of retail space on a parcel at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Crosstrail

Leesburg Farmers Markets Celebrate the 2013 Summer Season with Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

The Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative (LVHMC) will celebrate the opening of the summer Leesburg Farmers Markets with two ribbon cutting ceremonies.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, the Leesburg Wednesday Farmers Market will hold a ribbon cutting at 3:00pm.  On Saturday, May 4, 2013, the Leesburg Saturday Farmers Market’s ribbon cutting will be at 8:00am.  Both ribbon cuttings will take place at the Virginia Village Shopping Center on Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg.

The artist lineup for the 10th annual season of the Acoustic on the Green outdoor summer concert series is now official.

Ashby Ponds Donates Over $11,000 from “Treasures” in 2012

(Ashburn, Va.) - Shortly after Ashby Ponds retirement community opened its doors in the September 2008, the new residents began to organize the Treasure Chest, an on-site thrift shop that accepts donations from residents at the community and in turn sells the items for a good cause.   All of the proceeds collected at the Treasure Chest go directly to the Scholars Fund and the Benevolent Care Fund at Ashby Ponds.  During 2012, $11,655.01 was donated to these two causes from Treasure Chest proceeds.

“We all feel it is a worthwhile endeavor,” said Ashby Ponds resident and Treasure Chest committee co-chair Joanne Harney.

This past weekend was a buzz with hundreds of D.C. area fashinoistas, stylists and bloggers at the Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle Expo (FBL) at The Washington Convention Center on Saturday.  FBL Expo is DC’s premier style and fashion extravaganza.

Long-time “America’s Next Top Model” runway coach J. Alexander, "Miss J" and Bravo RHODC/DC 50's Paul Wharton hosted multiple fashion shows featuring winter and spring styles and trends.

FBL also featured discount shopping, free makeovers for the first 250 people in line courtesy of Jon David Salon, endless coupons and a model search competition!
